Public Transport

The simplest option for getting to Gigg Lane is to get a tram to Bury. The Bury line goes between Altrincham and *ahem* Bury via Stretford, Old Trafford, or Trafford Bar. So from Chorlton change at any stop between Trafford Bar and Market Street. Then it’s a 20 minute ish walk south to Gigg Lane.

If you’d rather limit the amount of walking, you could get off at Besses o’ th’ Barn and grab a 135 bus (timetable here) from the stop across the main road (A665) outside the station. They’re around every 10 minutes even on Sundays. Get off at Redvales Road after 13 minutes, and it’s only a few minutes from there.

You can just reverse your journey back.

Meeting points/pub

Despite congregating there a few times in the past, we don’t recommend going to Staff of Life near the ground. As there has been trouble in there in the past. Instead you’d probably be better heading into a pub in Bury itself. The Trackside at the East Lancs Railway station is only a few minutes out of the way, but is a lovely pub with a view of the trains.

Starkies bar is usually open for women’s game at the ground.

Food
It’s usually hard to know if food will be served at women’s games, so we can’t promise samosas unfortunately. But Starkies has served food for women’s games in the past.

You might be best eating in Bury centre. The Trackside has breakfast if you get there before 12 (breakfast menu), and sandwiches, chips, jacket spuds (lunch menu) if you get there later.
